Kim & Marc || Engagement Photography || Akron Art Museum, Ohio

When we first tried to meet with Kim & Marc for engagement photos in October, we got stormed out with heavy rain and had to cancel. It then took another month to find a date that worked for everyone. That date just happened to be 31 degrees. But like all our couples who face change-by-the-minute Ohio weather, they were awesome and totally rocked it! As you'll notice, half the session is without coats and they still managed to look happy and excited… because they are! That's why our style of shooting lends itself to un-posed poses. When you look at the camera all the time and are constantly told what to do, the only thing you think of is how incredibly cold and miserable you are. But when you interact and keep your focus on your special someone, then you're thinking about them. The result… lots of smiles and laughter. And in this case, lots of snugglin' while trying to stay warm. So here they are, the winners of our "Coldest Engagement Session Award" for 2013.

Wowzas, Kim! Beautiful eyes. (Kim coordinated her scarf and nails… which match our logo too!)

The Akron Art Museum is one of our favorite locations. The reflected light is beautiful. The lines. The symmetry. The cloud reflections...

The coats went back on but that didn't hinder the closeness or the romance…
Oh how we love a good reflection!

OK. Seriously! One of my favorite portraits of 2013! The sun broke through the clouds so we headed to the top of a parking garage in downtown Akron. We tell all our couples when we first meet that we love parking garages and they shoot each other a confused glance and then say "really? ok." Well, this is what you get. Just a little closer to sun and a clean background make a huge difference. Parking garage. That's right.

We were all so cold by the end but that didn't stop the glamour shots...

You guys seriously need to go in a North Face ad or something.

Winter skies can have their moments of beauty...

Wait… are those parking garage stairs? They sure are!

Thanks for braving the elements with us you guys. We had so much fun with you. We're really excited to work with you again this fall for your wedding. You're a beautiful couple and we hope you've finally thawed out by now. ;o)

Like always, please share, pin and comment on the ones you love!

So here's a few of us enjoying the sub-freezing weather. We don't break out the puffer coats very often, but that day was a must. Christy even stayed on brand with the pink hat.

Based on the sculpture behind them (hint, hint, wink, wink), your imagination can probably figure out the backdrop I had from my angle. I showed Kim & Marc just to get a laugh and keep them warmed up.

Marc's way of helping Kim stay entertained for a few portraits… >;o)

BOOM! Christy totally photo-bombed me a few times through the day. Cutie.
We love our job if we haven't said that before.

Michelle, Erik, Eva & David || Family Photography || Phoenix, Arizona

We must apologize in advance for posting these photos in the midst of an Ohio winter. These were taken in late October in Phoenix, AZ during the time we were there to photograph our cousin's wedding. As you can see, Arizona sunshine and 85 degree weather makes a perfect day for wonderful family photos. (We're really not trying to torture anyone here.) Michelle is my (Eric's) cousin and her husband Erik is the creator of our current logo… that fancy little watermark on every photo we post. Check out his studio work here. But enough about them, Eva and David are the ones you're going to fall in love with here…

GAHHH! Can't get over how great that face is! There's one thing you can never pose...

One of our favorites…

Gotta get your fiber from somewhere...

What a doll! Eva was super excited about her flowery pink nails.

Just a typical Phoenix skyline...

Love that FACE!

Check out them curls. What a handsome little guy.

Stunning, Michelle. We can see where Eva gets her beautiful eyes...

We really enjoyed spending some time with you guys. You're a beautiful family and such a fun team.
Hopefully we can do it again one of these years. Lots of love to you guys!

Like always, please share, pin and comment on the ones you really really like!

And some of us… Christy had a shadow for part of the morning.

I think I was pretending I needed to be that far away so I could hide in the cool shade...

Now there's two of the cutest faces I've ever seen...
