We hope you enjoyed last weeks portraits. If you didn't see that post, check it out here. This week we have something completely different for you… photos that were 100% out of our control. We love finding unplanned moments throughout the day but nothing says 'candid' quite like a dance photo and that's what makes them such a challenge as well as amazing when you get it right. There are usually only seconds to get a dance photo just right. Finding that perfect instant to snap the shutter is so exhilarating and rewarding when you are able to create a memory of pure emotion. A laugh, a tear, an embrace, a wild boogie fever moment, all waiting to be captured and remembered.

Receptions are the part of the wedding day that our photographic ability and equipment is stretched to the max. We love shooting in natural sunlight, but at receptions there is nothing but artificial light, which is usually either nonexistent or is incredibly powerful and vibrant. And so, like always, our challenge is to make the photo look like how the environment actually looked. We want to be true to the day and capture the energy, the mood, the feeling of each moment. To make this happen, we use a mixture of flash (the only time during the day) and non-flashed photography to create our dance photos. It's all about finding the right tool for the right situation at the right moment. The result are these incredibly beautiful and colorful images mixed with some classic black and white images. We love these and we hope you will to. Enjoy!
